Jill's lifelong passion for dance is evident whether she’s onstage or in the studio. Described by colleagues and critics as "riveting, graceful, technically sound and artistically capable", her proficient versatility has created quite an eclectic career. She began performing professionally as teenager with TLS Modern Company in her hometown of New Castle, PA. She then moved to Philadelphia, PA and earned her BFA in Dance Education from the University of the Arts. 

 

In 2007, Jill moved to Los Angeles and began performing with Jillina’s Sahlala Dancers. She worked as an Assistant Director for six years and officially took over as owner and Artistic Director in July 2021.

 

For the past decade, she has toured the world as a featured dancer and a rehearsal director for Jillina’s international theatrical dance company Bellydance Evolution. Her travels have taken her across the USA, Europe, Africa, Australia and Latin America. She also worked as a Co-director of BDE’s training company, BDEx.

In 2015, Jill launched Cathartic Art a collective that produces works that advocate for mental health through Art, Performance and the Creative Process. Their works have appeared in festivals and live events throughout Southern California.

 

In addition to Sahlala Dancers, Jill is in her 5th season performing with famed LA Choreographers & Dancers.. She also holds an Associates Teaching Degree through Dance Masters of America and is a certified Master Instructor with SharQuí: The Bellydance Workout.
